General
This type of datasource connects to a Qlik Sense app hosted in the SaaS environment of Qlik.
Properties
This type of datasource has the following properties:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Name | The name of this datasource. This does not have to be the name of the Qlik Sense app. |
URL | The base URL of the Qlik Sense Cloud account. This is the URL you type in the browser to access your Qlik Sense instance. |
API Key | The API key to be used by Mail & Deploy when communicating with the Qlik Sense instance (see below). |
App | The app of this datasource. You can click the button when you entered a Host, Port, Protocol, and Virtual Proxy Path to populate the field with all available apps. |
Set Filter Before Rebuilding Cache | When enabled a filter can be set before the cache of the datasource (see Datasources) is rebuilt. This can help speeding up the cache rebuilding process, especially for very large or complex data models. |
Filter Field Name | The name of the field to filter before rebuilding the cache. This property is only applicable if Set Filter Before Rebuilding Cache is enabled. |
Filter Value | An Expression that returns the value to filter to before rebuilding the cache. This property is only applicable if Set Filter Before Rebuilding Cache is enabled. |
Default Theme | The identification of the default Theme to be activated in the datasource. |
Preload App | When enabled, Mail & Deploy will preload all visualizations and sheets within the app when connecting to the app. This may take a bit of time but speeds up any communication with the app after the preload has completed. If you use the datasource to create large reports and the app has a complex data structure, preloading the app may speed up the total execution time. If you only export small parts of the app, preloading the app may actually be slower than communicating with the app without preloading. |

API Key
Mail & Deploy can only access a Qlik Sense Cloud instance if a valid API Key is provided. The Qlik help article Managing API Keys describes how an API key can be created.
API keys in Qlik Sense Cloud expire after a certain period of time; if the API key used by Mail & Deploy has expired, the connection to the datasource will no longer be possible and the creation of report documents and the execution of Tasks may fail. Please make sure that the API key used by Mail & Deploy is always valid and change it when required.
